 4 ca 1942 ca 1942 One of my top 2 favorite pictures of Mom. Dad made the frame from stainless steel scavenged from the cooling system on an Allison V-12 aircraft engine while he was in Australia. The plexiglass covering the picture came "from the pilot's canopy on a shot-up P-39 or P-40". |
 5 The metal backing piece is aluminum. I suspect it was scavenged from a plane. The retention tabs are held in place by machine screws threaded into the frame. |
