We had high hopes for a great day exploring Mackinac Island. There are no cars, and travel is restricted to foot traffic, bicycles (no e-bikes), and horse drawn carriages. The plan for the day was to take the ferry to the island, explore the downtown tourist trap area by foot, and explore Fort Mackinac by foot. We were then going to rent bicycles and ride the paved trail around the perimeter of the island. Well, plans changed.......
