Soft maple, and cabinet grade maple plywood.
The idea for this project was derived from an article, American Cabinet" by Troy Sexton in Popular Woodworking, April 2008 (See external links below). Using his project as a guide, I rescaled the dimensions and made quite a few construction detail changes. I wanted the look of frame and panel construction on the ends, and because it was to house the TV components, the doors needed glass panels so the remote control can manage the various devices in the bottom.
